Schroedinger Maps

Speaker: Daniel Tataru, University of California Berkeley

Location: Warren Weaver Hall 1302

Date: Monday, October 22, 2012, 3:45 p.m.

Schroedinger maps are a geometric nonlinear version of the classical linear Schroedinger equation, where instead of complex valued functions one considers Kahler valued maps. In this talk I will describe the equations, several approaches used in their study, as well as some recent results. Some open problems will be discussed at the end.
