Actions of Compact Lie Groups on Symplectic Manifolds

Synopsis:

The goal of the talk is to show that closed symplectic manifolds admit smooth compact Lie group actions which are not symplectic. More precisely, for any compact Lie group G, we shall present constructions of smooth actions of G on closed symplectic manifolds (in particular, on complex projective spaces) such that the actions do not preserve any symplectic structures on the given manifolds.
