Geometric flows and topology

Synopsis:

The lecture will explain how one can apply geometric flows to prove
long-standing conjectures concerning the topology of diffeomorphism
groups and moduli spaces of Riemannian metrics.  This will be a
nontechnical colloquium style presentation.
