Algebraic Geometry Seminar

The prime spectrum of a system

Speaker: Louis Rowen

Location: Warren Weaver Hall 1314

Date: Monday, April 1, 2019, 1:30 p.m.

Synopsis:

The general notion of ``system'' has been introduced to unify classical algebra with tropical mathematics,

hyperfields, and other related areas in which we can embed a partial algebraic structure and into a fuller structure from which we can extract more information. We discuss  the appropriate version of the prime spectrum, to obtain parallel notions of affine and projective geometry.

If time permits, we also will describe the module theory, including projective modules. (joint work with Jaiung and Mincheva)
