Synopsis:

It is known in the plasma physics  that the time asymptotic of a plasma can give rise to the so called Linear Landau damping effect. It is known in the mathematical community that physics of particles and wave propagation  can be described within the abstract theory of Scattering (Kato, Lax, ...).
I will show with adapted variables that Linear Landau damping can be formulated within the abstract theory of Scattering. That makes possible to use the powerful tools of abstract scattering and  yields an optimal description of the solutions of linear Vlasov-Poisson equations with magnetic field.
