I am currently a research scholar at the Courant Institute for Mathematical Sciences, NYU with Professor Robert V. Kohn.
I am also a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics at Columbia University working with Professor Michael I. Weinstein.
We have a finite-difference code that calculates the resonances for specific one-dimensional photonic crystal designs and we plan to do optimization to maximize the localization of the electric field within a manufactured defect.
In December of 2004 I completed my Ph.D. at Stanford University in the Physics Department. My advisor was Professor George Papanicolaou in the Math Department and my co-advisors in physics were Professors Robert B. Lauhglin, Renata Kallosh David Goldhaber-Gordon and Kathryn A. Moler.
