BOOKS: The text for both semesters is Landau and Lifshitz, Fluid Mechanics. The bookstore has copies now.
The auxiliary text for the first semester is Batchelor, Introduction to Fluid Mechanics. While both texts will be available on reserve, I recommend to anyone with strong interests in fluid dynamics to purchase both books. The paperback edition of Batchelor's book (new and used) is widely available on the internet. (The auxiliary text for the second semester will be Courant and Friedrichs, Supersonic Flow and Shock Waves.) Some other useful books will be avilable at the Courant Library Reserve Desk.
