Localization of min-max minimal hypersurfaces

Synopsis:

I will discuss how min-max minimal hypersurfaces can be "localized" in the ambient space. This result enables a min-max existence theory for minimal hypersurfaces in complete noncompact manifolds that parallels the well-established theory in closed manifolds.
