Mathematics is playing important roles in biological and biomedical research. In this talk, I will illustrate that mathematics can be a effective tool to improve our understanding of biomedical processes and help to develop more effective treatment plans. As showcases, I will talk about mathematical modeling for glioma virotherapy and for traditional therapies of glioblastoma, and how computational and mathematical analysis can help to find answers to specific medical problems. I will also mention that mathematical models can be used to study tumor stem cell initiation.
